Official Rulebook

Eligibility

  1. Horses must be a gelding and at least 2 years old as of January 1 of the current year.

  2. Grade geldings are eligible with a veterinarian letter stating the horse is a gelding, including color, markings, and/or brands.

  3. Horses must be officially nominated and paid in full to be eligible for payouts.

  4. Nominations are valid only for a year.

Nomination & Fees

  1. All nominations are non-refundable.

  2. A nomination is not considered complete until payment is received and verified.

  3. Horses may be nominated at any time during the season.

  4. However, a horse must be fully nominated and paid prior to the start of a show to be eligible for that event’s payouts.

  5. Nominations completed after a show has started or concluded will not be eligible for that event’s results or earnings.

  6. Newly purchased horses are eligible once nomination is completed and verified prior to competition.

Approved Shows

  1. Horses may compete at any TGI-approved show; there are no regional restrictions.

  2. TGI-approved shows will typically fall within a 200-mile radius.

  3. To request a show be approved, producers must contact management directly.

Competition Format

  1. This incentive is run as a 4D sidepot using .5, .5, 1.0 second splits.

  2. Times are pulled from the OPEN class only.

  3. Placings are determined based on the fastest nominated TGI horse, not the overall Open class winner.

Points & Year-End Awards

  1. Region standings will be based on total money earned at TGI-approved shows.

  2. Points will not be tracked by placings—earnings determine rank.

  3. Horses may compete in any approved show; earnings will apply toward their designated region.

  4. Year-end awards will be given per region based on total earnings.

Payout Structure

  1. Payout is based on the number of nominated horses competing at each approved show.

  2. 85% of sidepot funds will be paid out at each event.

  3. 15% of all sidepot funds, along with nomination fees, will be retained and used for:

    • Added money at select events

    • Regional and/or year-end awards

  4. All payouts will be issued to the name listed on the nomination form

General Rules

  1. Riders are responsible for ensuring their horse is properly nominated prior to competition.

  2. Only verified nominated horses are eligible for earnings and payouts.

  3. Management reserves the right to verify results, entries, and eligibility at any time.

  4. The Gelding Incentive is operated by DSBRA, LLC and Kayla Salter.

  5. Management reserves the right to refuse, adjust, or redistribute payouts based on entries, discrepancies, or unforeseen circumstances.

Disputes & Claims Policy

  1. All results, times, and payouts are considered official once posted.

  2. Any disputes regarding results, eligibility, or payouts must be submitted within 48 hours of the official results being posted.

  3. All disputes must be submitted in writing (Facebook message or email) and must include:

    • Horse name

    • Rider/owner name

    • Show name and date

    • Clear explanation of the issue

  4. The Gelding Incentive reserves the right to verify results with show producers, timing systems, and official records before making a final decision.

  5. In the event of an error, corrections will be made and payouts adjusted accordingly.

  6. Failure to submit a dispute within the 48-hour window will result in forfeiture of the right to contest results or payouts.

  7. All decisions made by management are considered final.

Payout Structure

  • 1–12 entries: 1 place paid at 100%

  • 13–20 entries: 2 places paid at 60% / 40%

  • 21–40 entries: 3 places paid at 50% / 30% / 20%

  • 41–80 entries: 4 places paid at 40% / 30% / 20% / 10%

  • 81–120 entries: 5 places paid at 30% / 25% / 20% / 15% / 10%

  • 121–160 entries: 6 places paid at 28% / 22% / 18% / 14% / 10% / 8%

  • TGI reserves the right to adjust spots paid based on entries, added money, etc

  • TGI will always cover the bottom place in the 4D with the amount paid in entry

Rule Changes & Voting

  1. The Gelding Incentive reserves the right to update or modify rules as needed.

  2. Major rule changes will be reviewed and voted on by a minimum of three (3) active nominators.

  3. Final decisions will be made in the best interest of the program and its participants.

TGI Process

1. Show approved.

2. Nominate your gelding.

3. Pay your nomination fee.

4. Enter TGI show through Saddlebook link provided on TGI Facebook.

5. Show Results will be done within 48 hours.

6. Checks will also be mailed within 48 hours.
